The statement by Armenian Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is a product of sick imagination, said spokesperson for Azerbaijan`s Foreign Ministry Leyla Abdullayeva as she responded to a question from journalists. The Armenian minister has recently said that the "Karabakh issue has been resolved”.

Commenting on the statement, Abdullayeva said: “Against a background of long-term efforts involving international mediators to resolve the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, such a statement by the defense minister of the aggressor country can only be regarded as a product of a sick mind.”

“However, what else can be expected from the defense minister of the country that glorifies fascism, that conducts bloody ethnic cleansing against the indigenous Azerbaijani population living in the Azerbaijani territories occupied by Armenia, that committed atrocities such as the Khojaly genocide?!"

"I would like to emphasize one more point. Fascist executioner Garegin Nzhdeh, who was glorified as Armenia's national hero, at one point also thought the issue was resolved, and everyone knows his fate."

“The Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will be solved only after the principles of international law and justice are fully ensured, and Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity is restored within its internationally recognized borders as demanded by the international community,” Leyla Abdullayeva added.
