Azerbaijan’s MFA: Talking about peace by occupant country is hypocrisy at the highest level

Azerbaijan’s MFA has answered to question of mass media about its attitude to the Armenian MFA’s comment regarding the so-called “oath-taking” organized by the aggressor Armenia on Azerbaijan’s occupied territories, APA reports.

L. Abdullayeva said the naming by the Armenian MFA as a “democratic process” the “oath-taking” show organized on Azerbaijan’s occupied lands along with revealing the nature of this aggressor country, also shows how far it is from the democracy notion.

“The occupation of other country’s internationally recognized territory, the subjecting of the people living on that territory to ethnic cleansing, and the blatant violation of human rights is called not a democracy but aggression in the contemporary international legal language.

When it comes to the expression “people” referred to Armenian MFA, first, Armenians living in Nagorno Garabagh region of Azerbaijan are not the people, but the Armenian community living in this region. Second, for speaking about the self-determination principle of people, Armenian MFA should first learn what is this principle, read the Helsinki Final Act, and then give proper references to these principles. Talking about peace by occupant country is hypocrisy at the highest level. The country which thinks about peace should not pursue occupation policy, the country which wants peace, should not obstruct negotiations process and finally, the side that supports peace should not be a major threat to peace itself,” the official of MFA stressed.
