APA. The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict must be resolved on the basis of the norms of international law and within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, President Ilham Aliyev said.

He made the remarks on Dec.3 during a press conference following the meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu in Baku.

Twenty percent of Azerbaijani lands are under the occupation of Armenia, and Azerbaijan’s historical monuments and cities have been destroyed, said President Aliyev.

The head of state noted that though the resolutions of the UN Security Council demand an unconditional withdrawal of Armenian armed forces from the occupied Azerbaijani lands, this demand remains on paper.

“Azerbaijan has been suffering from the Armenian occupation for many years. Our territories recognized by the international community are under occupation of Armenia”, said the president.

President Aliyev once again thanked Turkey for its support in theNagorno-Karabakh problem.
