President Aliyev: Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should be resolved within Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity

02.02.2016

The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should be resolved based on the principles of the international law and within Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

The president made the remarks Feb. 1 during a meeting with Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi.

The head of state said that 20 percent of Azerbaijani territories were occupied by the Armenian armed forces, with more than one million Azerbaijanis becoming refugees and IDPs.

President Aliyev then expressed his gratitude to the United Arab Emirates for supporting the adoption of the resolution on the Nagorno-Karabakhconflict at the UN General Assembly, noting that Azerbaijan, in turn, backs the position of the UAE within the UN and other international organizations.
