Armenians’ pumping excess water from Sarsang reservoir, being under occupation, causes bad consequences

01.03.2016

The bridge has collapsed in Ayrija village of Barda district, APA’s Karabakh bureau reports. The increase in the water level in Tartarchay river caused the incident.

Armenian side pumped water from the Sarsang reservoir, located in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, above the norm, Tartarchay waterworks office told APA. The increase of the water level also filled irrigation channel “Khan Arkh” with warp and gravel.

Measures are taken to prevent floods.

The increase in the level of the river also delayed restoration work at the bridge in Ayrija village of Barda.
