Hikmat Hajiyev: Sooner or later, Azerbaijan’s sovereignty over Nagorno Karabakh will be fully ensured

Nagorno Karabakh, temporarily occupied by Armenian armed forces, is an inseparable historical and sovereign territory of Azerbaijan. Sooner or later, Azerbaijan's sovereignty overNagorno-Karabakh will be fully ensured. No one should ever doubt it.

Spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry Hikmat Hajiyev said while commenting on the statement yesterday made by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Nagorno Karabakh, APA reports.

He said that this statement of the Armenian leadership, which has lost its reputation across the country and at the international level as well, is one of the next statements addressed to the domestic audience. “This shows that being prisoner of the past, the political leadership of Armenia couldn’t overcome warlord mentality of late 80s and doesn’t understand today’s reality. We would like to remind the Armenian authorities, that falsified the history, of the monument “Maragha-150”, erected in Maragha village ofAghdere district in 1978 on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the resettlement of Armenians. The monument “Maragha-150” was deliberately destroyed in 1988 by Armenians when the territorial claims began against Azerbaijan. Thus, Armenians may put forward territorial claims against other countries, where they resettled for several decades, under the name of ‘historical Armenian territories’,” he added.
