Defense Ministry: Azerbaijani army suffered losses as Armenians attempted to break into our positions

Armenian armed forces attempted to break into Azerbaijani positions in various directions in order to commit diversions along the frontline on the night of February 24-25, said defense ministry, APA reports.

Actions of the Armenian side were detected in advance and prevented as a result of the constant monitoring of the Armenian troops, military security organized by the Azerbaijani armed forces. 

Heavy fighting erupted between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces as the enemy attempted to occupy favorable positions in Khojavand – Fuzuli directions. Azerbaijani soldiers lying in ambush in these directions bravely prevented the attack of the Armenians and forced them to retreat. Azerbaijani army suffered losses as a result of the battle.                                                         

Armenia continues shelling Azerbaijan's positions.  

Adequate response measures have been taken by Azerbaijani military units in accordance with the operating conditions.
