Foreign Ministry makes statement on scheduled visit of OSCE MG co-chairs to Azerbaijan

OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs will visit Azerbaijan on Feb. 6, the spokesman for Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, Hikmat Hajiyev, told APAon Feb. 2.

The co-chairs will hold meetings with Azerbaijani officials on Feb. 7, said Hajiyev.

The spokesman noted that the co-chairs’ visit aim to continue discussions on intensive and constructive negotiations on the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Diplomatic sources earlier told APA that the co-chairs will start arriving in Azerbaijan from Feb. 3. American Co-Chair Andrew Schofer is expected to arrive in Azerbaijan on the evening of Feb. 3.

The OSCE is expected to hold another monitoring on the line of contact between Azerbaijani and Armenian troops in early Feb. On the Azerbaijani side, the monitoring will be conducted by the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk.

After the monitoring, the co-chairs together with Andrzej Kasprzyk will meet with Azerbaijani officials.
