An Armenian soldier, Grigor Yeghoyan (1998), was killed in retaliatory fire on Feb. 22 by the Azerbaijani army following the Armenian ceasefire violation, APA reported citing Armenian media.

The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict entered its modern phase when the Armenian SRR made territorial claims against the Azerbaijani SSR in 1988.
