“Establishing stability and peace in the South Caucasus is one of the most important issues for Turkey,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry’s press service told ONA’s Turkey bureau commenting on the latest meetings regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

“Both from this point of view and within the fraternal relations with Azerbaijan, as well as being a member of the Minsk Group, Turkey closely watches the processes in the region and supports the peaceful and negotiated settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict on the basis of international law and agreements within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.”

“Naturally, Turkey cannot support a solution that the friendly and brotherly Azerbaijan does not agree with. Turkey, as a member of the OSCE Minsk Group, is informed about the settlement process by co-chairs as other Minsk Group countries,” the statement said.

The Foreign Ministry said the co-chairs last visited Turkey in 2017 within their visits to the Minsk Group countries.

“As an OSCE Minsk Group country, Turkey is ready to provide the necessary support to the efforts made to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict peacefully.”
